Yellow Cat Petrified Wood - Red Fortification 10.2 oz.

Rare Yellow Cat Petrified wood, black with big bright red fortification on the edge. The red fortification area measures 1 1/2 inch by 3/4 inch and it goes through to the back. You can see the conglomerate pebbles throughout. The bottom edge is not polished and has glue for stabilization. You could repolish this piece if you want but we are downsizing and will be listing more soon. Absolutely stunning wood you will love and admire.
Every piece of wood is unique but the red colors are very rare.  Look at what mother nature has created. 
Measurements are about:  3 inch by 2 1/4 inch on the polished face and 1 1/2 inch at  tallest, weighs 9.9 oz.
 
Yellow Cat Petrified Wood comes from Grand County, Utah found in the Brushy Basin Member in the Morrison Formation. This petrified wood is about 140 million years old from the Jurassic Time Period. Yellow Cat Petrified Wood is extremely rare and highly prized by wood collectors and rare specimen collectors alike.  The limb casts from this area can be solid banded agate all the way through, banded agate with calcite or quartz centers but the majority are partial replacements with the banded agate mixed with permineralized wood to complete the casts. The agate colors range from red, orange, black and yellow. The black and red fortification wood is very rare.
