Yellow Cat Petrified Wood - 15.8 oz.

Large piece of Yellow Cat Petrified Wood. It has great deep red color and fortification and a touch of brown and tan. It has very nice outside character. Nice large limb which is very rare. Every piece of wood is unique but the red colors are very rare.  Look at what mother nature has created. It's hard to believe its really petrified wood.
 
Measurements are about:  3 inch by 2 inch on the polished face and 3 1/2 inch tall, weighs 15.8 oz.
 
Yellow Cat Petrified Wood comes from Grand County, Utah found in the Brushy Basin Member in the Morrison Formation. This petrified wood is about 140 million years old from the Jurassic Time Period. Yellow Cat Petrified Wood is extremely rare and highly prized by wood and rare specimen collectors alike.  The limb casts from this area can be solid banded agate all the way through, banded agate with calcite or quartz centers but the majority are partial replacements with the banded agate mixed with permineralized wood to complete the casts. The agate colors range from red, orange, black and yellow.
