2 Pieces Yellow Cat Petrified Wood * Cut Pair

2 pieces of Yellow Cat Petrified wood, polished. This is a small branch cut in half. Nice unique pattern with fortification surrounding the quartz in the center.  The pattern is also very unique with the feathering throughout the face and solid agate on one end. Sometimes mother nature makes you ponder how this was formed.
 
From the orginal yellow cat flat area.  The Moab area has the Tusher canyon petrified wood but it's more of an orangish/red color and doesn't have the extreme fortification.  Amazing to look at mother nature's creation, it's hard to believe it's really petrified wood.
 
Measurements are about: 1 1/4 inch by 1 inch and 1 inch tall for both pieces, weighs 1.7 oz. for both pieces.
 
 
Yellow Cat Petrified Wood comes from Grand County, Utah found in the Brushy Basin Member in the Morrison Formation. This petrified wood is about 140 million years old from the Jurassic Time Period. Yellow Cat Petrified Wood is extremely rare and highly prized by wood and rare specimen collectors alike.  The limb casts from this area can be solid banded agate all the way through, banded agate with calcite or quartz centers but the majority are partial replacements with the banded agate mixed with permineralized wood to complete the casts. The agate colors range from red, orange, black and yellow.
